Sadly for you (or not) I think this (bad) joke is not translatable “word for word” in English …
(in French the word “bell” (easter) is also used for “idiots” and for “gearbox housing” (probably because of the bell shape))
and so I took advantage of the day off for Easter to wish to all my francophone friends a “happy feast to all the bells”
