Après quelques mois d’interruption … reprise du projet cox 66′ tout terrain avec son 4 à plat “watercooled” …
Nous nous étions arrêtés avec les soudures des renforts latéraux et des panneaux sur le plancher en V (1ère photo).
On reprend sur ce plancher juste le temps de créer et souder la partie arrière du body-lift.
Le montage à blanc se poursuit avec le retour de la caisse sur son nouveau châssis.
Ensuite, installation d’un train avant neuf … qui sera prochainement modifié et renforcé,
et la découpe et le renforcement du nez de châssis pour accepter la volumineuse crémaillère SACO.
Pour son roulement de guidage, la fin d’une colonne de 1303 est greffée au corps de la colonne d’origine raccourcie et modifiée pour accepter le cardan de direction de taille supérieure du kit SACO.
La cloison est repercée et l’ensemble est ensuite fixé à l’intérieur, supporté par un renfort maison placé sur le tablier

In last post, we finish with the fitting of the side reinforcement and panels of the “V” floorpan (first photo)
We continue on this floorpan just time to create and weld the rear part of the body-lift
Dry mount continues with the return of the body on new chassis
Then install a new front beam … wich be soon modified and strengthened
and cutting and strengthening the nose frame to accept the size of this big SACO rack & pinion
To use his bearing guide, an end of Super Beetle body column is grafted to the shortened body of the original column
The column is shortened and modified to accept the larger steering gimbal from the SACO kit
The wall is re-drilled and the set is then fixed inside, supported by a home made reinforcement placed on the wall
